Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
60sec includes the public daily-question experience at 60sec.world, 60sec Classroom, and Private Questions, a one-to-one private-link question feature. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use either part of the service and the choices available to you.
1. Information we process
You can use the core 60sec experience without creating a named account. To make the one-answer-per-day mechanic work, the site may create an anonymous technical user/session identifier. When you participate, we may store the daily question, the answer option you selected, timestamps related to your attempt, and technical identifiers needed to prevent duplicate attempts and build your on-site history. After you answer, the service may also store a two-letter ISO country code derived at the hosting edge so we can show aggregate “your country vs world” results. We do not store your IP address for this feature.
We do not ask you to provide sensitive personal information as part of the daily question experience.
2. 60sec Classroom
Teachers may create a Classroom account using a display name, email address and password. We may store the teacher profile, poll templates, room/session history and related timestamps so the Classroom workspace can operate and show previous sessions.
Students join a room using a six-digit code or QR link. Classroom does not ask students to provide a name, email address or phone number. To make one-answer-per-room work, the service creates an anonymous technical authentication identifier and may store room membership, the selected answer option and related timestamps.
Classroom data is kept separate from the public daily-question response system, Humanity Match, country comparison and Demo Traffic. After a teacher reveals a poll, aggregate class results may be shown to the teacher and participating students and may remain in the teacher's session history.
Teachers should not place student names, contact details, health information or other sensitive personal information in Classroom poll questions or answer choices.
3. Private Questions
Private Questions lets a person create one question with 2–4 answer choices and send a random private link to one recipient. The creator may use Ask only mode, where only the recipient answers, or Match mode, where the creator chooses first and the creator's choice stays hidden until the recipient answers.
To operate this feature, we may store the private question text, answer choices, question mode, creator and recipient technical anonymous authentication identifiers, selected answer indexes, timestamps, share-action count, unique invite-open records, an optional template identifier, and a parent-question reference when a recipient creates a new question from an earlier private question.
Private invite and owner-result pages are not intended for public discovery and are configured not to be indexed by search engines. Access is controlled by random unguessable link tokens. The first version accepts one recipient answer per private question. Private links expire after seven days, although limited records may remain for security, integrity, analytics or operational purposes.
Do not place passwords, payment credentials, health information, government identifiers or other highly sensitive personal information in a Private Question.
4. Analytics and cookies
60sec uses Google Analytics 4 only after you choose to accept analytics cookies in the consent banner. If you decline, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded by our consent implementation.
Analytics may help us understand information such as page usage, approximate location, device category and engagement. You can decline analytics cookies when first asked. Your consent choice is stored locally in your browser.
When analytics consent is granted, 60sec may also record limited first-party acquisition events in Supabase so we can understand which campaign or referral led to participation. This can include UTM source/medium/campaign/content values, referring hostname, page path, pseudonymous anonymous-session user ID and events such as landing, question view, answer, result view and share/challenge. We do not store these acquisition events when analytics consent is declined.
5. Essential browser storage
The site may use local storage or similar browser storage for essential functions, including your anonymous session, participation state, analytics-consent choice and interface preferences. These items are used to make the service function consistently between page visits.
6. Service providers
We use third-party infrastructure to operate 60sec. This currently includes Supabase for database and authentication services, Vercel for hosting and deployment, Google Analytics for optional analytics, and Resend for operational email infrastructure. These providers may process limited technical information as necessary to provide their services and according to their own terms and privacy practices.
7. Contact messages
If you contact us by email or through a contact channel shown on the site, we may process the information you choose to send so that we can respond to you and keep a reasonable record of the conversation.
8. Country comparison
Country comparison uses only the two-letter country code associated with real answer records. Synthetic or Demo Traffic is excluded. Country-level results are shown only after a minimum group size is reached, to avoid exposing very small aggregates.
9. How we use information
We use information to operate the daily-question experience, enforce one attempt per participant per question, display results and profile statistics, maintain security, diagnose problems, understand optional analytics, improve the product and respond to messages.
10. Legal bases and international users
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing may rely on the performance of the service you request, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and consent where we specifically ask for it, such as optional analytics cookies.
60sec is intended for a global audience. Some service providers may process data in countries different from your own. Where applicable, providers may use recognized transfer mechanisms for international data transfers.
11. Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, to maintain product history and integrity, or where retention is required for security, legal or operational reasons. Anonymous daily-question participation records may be retained as part of aggregated historical statistics. Classroom polls, sessions and anonymous response records may be retained to provide teacher session history and service integrity. Private Question links expire after seven days; associated technical records may be retained for a limited period for service integrity, abuse prevention and product measurement.
12. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or data portability. Because much of the core participation data is anonymous or pseudonymous, we may not always be able to link a particular record to you without additional information.
You can decline optional analytics cookies. You can also clear browser storage through your browser settings, although doing so may reset local preferences or anonymous-session state.
13. Children and classroom use
The public daily-question experience is not directed to children under 13. 60sec Classroom is designed for teacher-led use. Students should join Classroom only under the direction of their teacher or school. Classroom does not ask students to create named accounts or provide a name, email address or phone number. Teachers and schools are responsible for determining whether and how Classroom may be used with students under applicable law and school policies, including any consent requirements.
14. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect the service and the information processed through it. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will show the current version.
